Thoughtless

This poem is about going against strict prescriptivism. Sometimes, a language is too powerful it can intimidate, humiliate, and dehumanize a person.

Thoughtless

Don’t be careful of what you say, at least not this time.
Don’t be caught guilty of trying to make lines rhyme,
nor think of grammar or words that fit.
or even SHOW your readers you pause, just so they can pattern your thoughts.
Just write!

Just show THE WORLD who you are and WHERE you are from
if YOU want to write in a language that can be understood
After all, it would be the first time when the poet didn’t think of what to write.

Write the words you are MADE of.
That’s you articulating!
That’s the poem when THE poet is tired of accommodating!

Just as how we live
Some take it the hard way
Some die for pattern
Cause a pattern means organization
And organization a system
and the system makes you any different from the rest?
it gives you your genre?
It gives you your value?
But you are worth no dime than any other POEM!
You just have the same line, same stanza, same rhythm
and in the end is just meant to be read!
